Although Veer had realised that Madhu was a bit drunk, he was nevertheless taken by surprise by what happened next. Instead of saying good night at his door and catching up with her friends down the road, she leaned closer to him, saying in a low voice: “I want to ask you for something… First I think you should put your real job as a doctor aside, because I need a appointment with a… a special doctor. You know… I’ve got some issues that I think you can sort out for me. Doctor…!” She winked, definitely flirting, and it took him some seconds to sort of what she had asked for. He just hadn't been expecting that. Not from Madhu, who he had worked with for quite a while until she went off for an assignment in South Amrica last year. She was extremely friendly, but also strict and focused on her career. Veer felt confused but wasted no time on deep thoughts at this moment. "You mean you want to go see me privately?" She nodded. “Ah, let’s see.” He held up his hand like holding a calendar and turned some imaginary pages. “There is a possibility already tomorrow at five pm. Is that ok?” Madhu's eyes widened, a blush rising as she smiled shyly, accepting the playful invitation. "Thanks! That works perfectly. And I can pay you, of course, so we don’t have any troubles on that side." "That’s good, and if you pay on-site, the doctor's visit will be included in the cost cap." They were obviously amused of speaking through subtle and innocent hints. "Alright then, I’ll see you g here tomorrow at five. Don't bring anything else with you than yourself, that's how it has to be." Veer went inside. Although his plans had been to get home early because he very much needed a good nights sleep, he lay awake seMadhul hours planning how to welcome Madhu tomorrow and what services to offer. At seven am he woke up and jumped into work again. Eventually he managed to skip lunch as well, which meant extra time for last minute preparations. Five o'clock came quickly, and so did Madhu. Veer greeted her with a smirking hello at the entrance. After having locked the door they walked to his office. "Welcome Ms Peterson. Please have a seat! And tell me, what brings you here?" "Well," she started in a slightly uncomfortable tone, sitting down in one of the chairs facing Veer's desk. "It concerns the fact that my private life hasn't gone as planned lately, and sometimes I feel a bit tired. Lacking energy and drive." "Ok, and may I ask about the specifics? Is there perhaps a physical problem you're concerned about?" "Hm... In a way yes, you could say that!" She paused for a second. "It's difficult..." "Difficult how?" The playful attitude with this mock appointment disappeared for a second when Madhu obviously had to tell something honest. "The thing is, at some points, actually ask too often, I'm feeling kind of horny..." "Mmmh," Veer said, supporting himself up against the corner of his desk. "What makes you horny?" "Oh god, so many things!" "Can you point them out for me?" As always during these appointments, Veer put on a caring face, trying to express his desire to help Madhu solve all of her problems. Madhu took on a concerned look that however couldn’t entirely hide a spiteful smile. “In a way this is a totally normal thing, but my problem is that it happens so often and with such intensity that it effects my everyday life.” She sighed. "So for example, during a conference I had to make seMadhul trips back to my hotel room to change underwear." She blushed. "And actually, I've lost count of how many pairs of panties I've thrown away lately." "Oh really now!" Veer was so amused by her promising introduction but made sure to keep his face neutral. "Yes, really! It is inconvenient and unhygienic, not to mention unpleasant to walk around with wet pants all day. But unfortunately I do wear wet undies most of the time..." “I find this extreme. And that’s why I decided to consult you. Strictly professional if course.” Madhu looked down on her knees. She wore a black knee long skirt and a pink and white striped shirt. On top she had pulled an olive green cardigan with ruffles over her shoulders and wrists. “I understand that you find this inconvenient,” Veer stated. “This bad have an organic explanation, that means something has changed in your body, or a more psychological reason.” Veer continued with some initial questions: “Does this happen during certain times of the day?” Madhu took a moment to think. “Not really. Very often at work, and that’s when it is most problematic. But also at home; mornings, evenings and weekends. Then it’s easier to solve, if you know what I mean…” Veer felt his pulse increasing when imagining what Madhu hinted at, but decided not to follow up this invitation. Not yet. Instead he asked: "Do you have any symptoms connected to these sensations?" "No, nothing at all except... everything feels somewhat tighter in the bottom of my tummy..." "Interesting," Veer noted. "Some details are important in determining what the actual cause is... For instance, is there anything particular that happens before this, for example, food or drink?" "Nah." ” Hmmm.” Veer tapped his pen on the desk. He had arranged it neatly, he thought. Although he had been in a hurry, everything was rusty in his office, and he had moved the old oak desk so he and Madhu could sit opposite of each other. There was is his notebook, a box of paper napkins and a small anatomical model of a female torso he got one from a farmaceutica company. There was a bed for guests in the room and he had been able to raise it almost to table hight using two saw horses. A large dark blue curtain was placed on it, making it look somewhat clinical, and hiding the saw horses. On a sideboard he had gathered some medical equipment. A stethoscope, a tendon hammer and some examination gloves. There were also a tape measure, callipers and a stainless steel bowl with cotton swabs and compresses. He also had some 5 ml syringes without needles that he might use for collection of fluids. He hadn’t worked at a clinic for five years since got the job at the insurance company, but he had kept his personal medical tools and sometimes collected things he thought might become handy for vacations or fancy dress parties. It was at the company he had met Madhu. The sat close to each other in the cubicle office. At first they hardly noticed each other and were obviously not very similar. Veer was spontaneous, optimistic, relaxed and did often forget things or arrived late. Madhu had studied law, dressed strictly at the office and was always on time. She was a volunteer for Amnesty International and wanted to make a career that might take her abroad.
